Close to end of November we had completed our first draft for our music video and from here we were given feedback that we could respond and change our music video to what was necessary. From the feedback we could make our music video more professional and interesting to our audience, furthermore be able to develop the shots that need to be changed, for example unsteady shots and shots that are in bad lighting that were needed to be re-filmed.
Feedback from real music video director:
Nice sin city inspired effect. Some nicely composed shots. Quite an artistic and unusual perspective at the beginning - really liked that. 0:45 transition is nice and homage to Sinatra. Nice idea with the CD’s at 1 minute - really nice how it reflects the lyrics once again. 1:27 - lovely idea with the iPhone. Another strong piece all together.'
Feedback from ex student :
Iuris first draft: love the colour effects! some of the transitions are really clever like the one at 1:40. super into the shot of the graveyard over the line “i ain't scared of living.” i like the phone shot zoomed in and becoming real but i’m not sure if it works the second time, it gets a bit product placement-y in my opinion? but very original!
Digi Pak (Draft):
This is our first draft of Digi Pak and we have received feedback from our peers and teachers, therefore we were able to develop our Digi Pak and make the whole Digi Pak professional.
Feedback:
- Each image size is the wrong size and there is not enough media convergence between each product, therefore there needs to be more implementation of recognisable patterns or symbols in the Digi Pak.
- There is not enough use of leave colour in the Digi Pak, it should be used more as it is put throughout your music video.
- The 'lies' makes the Digi Pak look unprofessional as this has not been used in any other products therefore this has no link between the Website, Tour Poster and music video etc.
- Each image should cover the majority of the Digi Pak sections rather than leaving large borders around each image as more space could be used to make the Digi Pak look more professional.
Digi Pak (Final)
This is our final Digi Pak and this has been created after we received feedback on each part of the Digi Pak, from the feedback we were able to fix any issues with our first draft.
This is the coverage we done on the feedback that we received for our Digi Pak and this is the feedback that we acted upon to improve our Digi Pak to make our Digi Pak as professional as possible and to make the Digi Pak link to more products of the artist.
Music Video Feedback:
To gather more feedback I created a simple questionnaire to gather quick feedback from 4 different individuals, from the feedback of the final music video we were able to see final opinions of the finished music video.
These images to the left are the survey monkey questions that I created to gather feedback from people that had not seen the music video until I showed them, therefore the feedback would be fresh and accurate.
These are the results of from the survey monkey questionnaire below and from this feedback we knew if we needed to improve further we still could improve more.
Further Feedback:
I gathered more feedback from two peers from groups Heidi Holmes and Ivory, these are the questions I asked Tilly and Elona to gather more feedback on the music video.
1) What did you think of our music video overall?
2) What do you think the theme of our music video was?
3) What genre do you think our song choice is?
4) What did you particularly like or not like about our music video?
5) Can you identify any obvious links between our Music Video, Digi Pak and Website?
